Visit the Khan Ping Kan – better known as James Bond Island where “The Man with the Golden Gun” was filmed. Have a great seafood lunch at Panyi Island, a small Muslim village, built on stilt. It might not be the greatest day for weather this year but we are still open and have taken delivery of our new signs for the restaurant today. Hopefully people will be able to find us more easily now.
If you are thinking of a beach holiday in Thailand, there are currently some great deals on return flights available. A Direct flight from London to Bangkok normally takes about 11 hours. However, if you don’t mind stopping along the way you can save a considerable amount on your total holiday budget.
For around £400 return you could be on the beach in Phuket the very next day.
Accommodation varies on Phuket and there is a huge choice depending on level of comfort, your budget and preference.
At Seaside Cottages, we try and cater for most people’s needs and have accommodation ranging from £3.50/night for a tent to £45/night for one of our spacious Round Cottages. You will also get online discount for any reservation of 3 nights or more.
We can provide meals here from around £2.50/person and always stock a good selection of Beers and Canned Drinks or a Fresh Fruit Smoothie to keep you cool.
It’s nearly the end of September and not long to go before the weather improves as we get underway with another new season. We had quite a challenging year getting everything back to standard after spending the previous two summers in County Cork, Ireland.
We are now back in Phuket and Seaside Cottages and Restaurant is still operating as normal throughout the year. We will soon be kicking off “High Season” with new staff, a new menu and hopefully some great guests from all walks of life and different parts of the world.
We have tried wherever possible to retain our original goal of running a resort in one of the most unspoiled areas of Phuket. Inevitably many things have changed here since we first opened in 2007. There are now a few more hotels along the beach at Mai Khao, most notably “The Holiday Inn” only about 500 meters away. Although it has changed the local landscape quite dramatically it has enabled more people to share a beautiful beach which they may not have seen otherwise. It has also enabled us to remain open throughout the year as there are more customers in our restaurant.
Please take time to look at our main website http://mai-khao-beach.com where you can find more details about our resort, the rooms, restaurant and the beach. You can also book online and ensure that you have a pleasant time during your next visit to Thailand in a small resort with only 6 rooms on the largest and quietest beach in Phuket.
